I really like Edgar Allan Poe's stories, they're short but sweet masterpieces.

I really recommend Roland Topor short stories(and books) . Dark, absurd and very funny. Sadly, I don't think anything else than The Tenant and Four roses for Lucienne was translated, so have one of his artworks. An Artwork

For some poetry, There is something wonderfully evocative in this poem, and I still think it is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read.
