Hello everyone,
While, yes, I know that this is a "dead" board, I am posting this question in the chance that someone may come along and give their view/opinion in response.
The question I would like to propose is this: Is it the action of the significant other in this type of relationship that causes you to feel the essence of attraction to that person?
To follow-up, I will provide some information about myself in regards to this scenario.
I actually stumbled upon this forum by semi-accident, surprising, I know. I have had situations that occurred in my life that resemble the gfdrr situations that I've seen depicted. Nothing...lewd, so let's not try to go there in terms of thinking, but more so in the case of everyday-life actions. Having realized this for myself, and of course, seeing it depicted in media more often, I had come to wonder if there was actually a name for this type of grouping. I have already done research on BDSM (little knowledge) due to a class assignment, which honestly, I don't know how the school let the teacher assign it as such. I mean, yes it is a way of life, but in a Geo class? Sorry, rambling. So, anyways, I had no idea what it was called. I had usually searched for it as "aggressive/dominant female in standard relationship." I didn't really get anything other than Psychological studies and how it wasn't the social norm. Recently, I tried searching for "male submission and female domination in normal relationship" and I found the term "role reversal". Long story made shorter, using that term, I found a tumblr blog on the subject and consequently found this board after using keywords I had, in turn, found there. It took quite a bit of courage to actually post here, though. I don't mean to say this place is scary, as it is, after all, only a website. I mean to say that my shyness can be a little debilitating. Now, the reason I ask the question, is because I consider myself, in a way, asexual. I hope the usage of that association does not offend anyone. I say this due to the fact that I don't really feel any sexual attraction to anyone. When my friends say someone is hot, I don't really understand what they notice in order to say so. I don't want this to come across as my being shallow, as I have "liked" someone before, but it was more of a crush due to admiration, rather than appearance. Now, why I have gone this far is because as noticed, I was attracted to the actions performed by the significant other. I'm not sure how to explain that portion, but I'll do my best. In my perception, the actions performed are very caring and produce a feeling of importance in the person being acted upon. That feeling of "being desired" is quite a strong one (as evidence throughout history, time and time again). With that I found myself attracted to the "actor." So, I came here and would like to know, if possible, if anyone else has experienced the same.
Here is the question again: Is it the action of the significant other in this type of relationship that causes you to feel the essence of attraction to that person?
Maybe I didn't even really need to ask this question. Perhaps, I have had my nose in books for too long. (^ ~ ^
I'm very sorry for the long wall of text and Thank You to any and all who answer. I hope you have a good day!
